Gymnastics

Gymnastics has been a big part of my life and taught me a lot throughout my years of doing it. When I was younger I always had an interest in flipping and tumbling. When I grew older my parents put me in gymnastics. They were first hesitant knowing that gymnastics can cause stunt growth along with injuries but they prayed to Baba and Guruji and enrolled me in gymnastics. I knew the moment I stepped into that gym it would turn into my second home and it did. As I improved with Baba and Guruji’s blessings, I was asked to move to the competition team. Being in the competition team meant more hours and cutting off other commitments to make it to gymnastics. It wasn't a bother for me since I loved the sport so much.

However gymnastics wasn’t all about the flips and twists, I learned a lot more than just physical skills. I learned not to take things for granted along with trusting myself and having dedication. Working hard and being my very best was going to help me succeed. I am very grateful that I have been doing this sport for about 4 years now and I have not had any major injuries. Baba and Guruji have always looked out for me on that part. The day before my first state gymnastics championships I got a letter from Shirdi along with the udi packet. I was beyond ecstatic and took it as a blessing. The next day at the competition I won first place. Ever since then, the letter has stayed in my gymnastics backpack.

Sometimes people lose their passion for certain things. I can’t say that I have not questioned continuing gymnastics in the future. But Baba and Guruji have always taught me to stay dedicated. They also taught me that if you really love something then stick to it. Having that mindset made me choose to stay with the sport and I have stuck with it no matter how hard it could be sometimes. I am so thankful that Baba and Guruji have stuck with me all these years and introduced me to something that made me so happy.
