The Joy of Reconnection

Written by Sai Keertana Ganta

My name is Sai Keertana Ganta from Seattle Washington, and this year I have had the privilege to continue my experience and journey with Baba and Guruji. This past month during may long weekend, I had the opportunity to attend satsang in Mount Shasta, California. After a short hiatus of these satsangs due to covid-19 I was unsure about how satsang would resume and if it would be different or not. The girls that I attend satsang with every sunday morning and I were given the chance to perform a dance at the end of the satsang weekend. Not knowing these girls in person, since we live across the country, but rather only as faces through a screen, I felt supported and had fun getting to know the girls better in the time that we polished our dance in person before we performed it.

Apart from this beautiful dance that the audience had a great time watching and the girls and I had a great time putting together, it was so nice to see satsang back in session. I would attentively sit during experience sharing and hear the miracles of Baba and Guruji come true, and in a way, there was a sense that I could relate with each experience on a personal level. Whether it be an uncle talking about his experience moving to the USA, an akka talking about her college/job acceptance, or a little kid explaining his miracle that happened a couple hours prior from which he believed that Baba was real, I could feel the overwhelming support and understanding from my gurubandhu family around. Each experience was unique to each person which really showed me that Baba helps everyone specifically with what they need. I felt a great sense of joy fill through me when I heard the familiar voices of aunties and uncles that I haven’t heard in years and the sparkling happiness that was created in the unity of Baba and Guruji. Without them, we wouldn’t have experiences to share, miracles to talk about, or something to learn.

Since there are many kids at Mt.Shasta satsang, the older ones were gathered to have an educated talk about Baba and Guruji. To our relief, nothing was a forced conversation but rather an open-ended discussion about Baba and Guruji, their teachings, and the interpretations we all had. Coming out of this session, I can gladly say that all the kids enjoyed being part of a conversation so thought-provoking yet still interesting in such a way that we had so much to say and went over our one-hour time period. Leaving Mt.Shasta was bittersweet as we kids had all grown up to become the annas and akkas we once wanted to be before Covid. Coming back as brighter and stronger minds, we allow ourselves to undergo different experiences together and start a new, healthy relationship with Baba and Guruji.

Although it is unfortunate we don’t get to be all together in person for a while, the girls that participate in weekly Sunday morning satsangs have been invited to Harithachala camp to learn more about Baba and Guruji. We presented a teaser clip in Mt.Shasta about this opportunity that we got and how we are so excited. This camp, being led by Sruti Akka, is the biggest wish that has come true for us. There is only one month left for the camp to commence and every single girl attending couldn’t have been more thrilled. We are ready to take on new experiences, skills and friendships that Baba and Guruji have in mind for us. Above all, in Mt.shasta, we were constantly reminded about the significance that the mountain had and how it is on the same axis as Arunachala, in which Harithachala existed. We are eternally lucky and grateful that we have the opportunity to be in 2 holy places within a year and experience it with each other. And that can only be credited to Baba and Guruji’s blessings.
